About

Elliot BostickElliot Bostick is a self-taught painter based in New York City. By day he works in data analytics; by night he is truly passionate about bringing his paintings to life.

Each artwork requires approximately 40 hours of labor. His technique involves outlining in Van Dyke brown, then layering warm colors before adding cooler tones on top. The paintings extend to the canvas edges, and he suggests displaying them unframed for maximum visual impact.

Influences

His work draws inspiration from three distinct traditions: French impressionism, Japanese woodblock prints, and Tibetan Buddhist sand mandalas. He intentionally designed his style to emphasize the meditative and therapeutic aspects of the painting process.

The compositions of his artwork are influenced by scenes from his life, creating a vibrant and electric feel. Beyond visual art, Bostick is an accomplished musician and cook. He frequently visits the Metropolitan Museum of Art and enjoys running in Central Park.
